Maison Danel swings open with a sparkling array of french pastries in San Francisco (Via EaterSF)
Maison Danel, the new Parisian-inspired patisserie and tea salon, will finally open doors on Tuesday, February 18, unveiling a sparkling space and fully loaded pastry case. Theis the latest project from husbands Danel and David de Betelu, the owners of the cozy neighborhood. Taking over three storefronts in the Tenderloin , they’ve transformed the location with oceanic blues and gleaming silvers.
Pastry chef Adrien Chabot, who just moved out from Paris, specializes in Viennoiserie, meaning croissants, in all their iterations, from ham and cheese to hazelnut and chocolate. Macarons will come in a rainbow of colors and flavors, as well as canelés, éclairs, petite tarts, and mille-feuilles. Afternoon tea is a sit-down affair with mini croissants, finger sandwiches, and pastries.
