Equipment problems on the track near BART's Millbrae station caused major delays on the Millbrae line on Tuesday morning.

Filippi said the agency is working to establish service between the Millbrae and San Bruno stations to allow riders to transfer onto red and yellow line trains.

In the interim, Caltrain is providing train service between Millbrae and Downtown San Francisco, BART said. SamTrans is also providing bus service between Millbrae and Daly City. Filippi told KCBS that the cause of the equipment problem was under investigation."These things do happen with a major system like ours," he said."We do have aging equipment in the system that we're trying to replace."
