Major delays expected after equipment issue closes BART service on SFO, Antioch lines

An equipment problem on BART tracks briefly shut down trains heading to and from parts of Contra Costa County on Thursday.

The full shutdown of tracks between the Pleasant Hill and Rockridge stations lasted about 30 minutes, but delays of 20 minutes remained into the early afternoon, according to the agency. At 10:22 a.m., BART put out a statement saying that all service between the two stations had stopped.The Walnut Creek, Lafayette and Orinda stations all are stops between Rockridge and Pleasant Hill.

Contra Costa County Connection buses offered free service to BART customers at all of the stations that were affected by the shutdown, according to the agency.
