The suspect reportedly gained access to the building by using various items he obtained from the parking lot to break multiple windows.

The alarm company that provided services for the bank remained in contact with police during the incident, providing updates on the suspect’s activities via live security surveillance footage.

After they advised police that the suspect was holding a binder of paper and a lighter, the contact team, having concerns that the suspect was going to start a fire, entered the building. Officers continued speaking with the suspect once they were inside the bank and were able to take them into custody.

The suspect caused extensive damage to the bank, including breaking six large windows/doors and damaging numerous items inside the bank. The suspect was booked on charges of burglary and malicious mischief. Police said they also had an outstanding Department of Corrections escape warrant for assault, but that warrant was not verified.
