A man is facing several charges after there was a break\u002Din at the Ahtahkakoop RCMP detachment on Saturday morning.
RCMP received a report of the break and enter at the detachment at about 7:40 a.m., and an investigation determined a man broke in through an exterior door, according to a media release issued Monday.
The man came upon an on-duty guard in the cellblock area who alerted the detachment officers, who then returned to the police station a few minutes later, according to RCMP. RCMP said the man fled the building and police found a man matching the description shortly after; the suspect then ran away, according to the release.No one was injured, police said.
A man, 41, has been charged with one count each of breaking, entering and committing an indictable offence to a business, theft under $5,000, mischief, damage to property under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.The news seems to be flying at us faster all the time.
