Authorities said an officer saw a man in the roadway walking toward a nearby lawn, where he lay down. Police called for an ambulance and put the man in handcuffs, officials said. After he was handcuffed, police said, the man suffered “medical distress.” Police and first responders provided emergency aid, but he was declared dead at the scene. The attorney general’s office said it expects to release the man’s name and the names of the officers involved in the incident within two business days
