Man dies after being hit by pickup while crossing Loop 410 on Northeast Side

A man died after being struck by a pickup while attempting to cross Loop 410 on the Northeast Side, police said Saturday. Officials said a 30-year-old man was driving north on 410 in a 2018 Ford F-150 around 9:30 p.m. Friday when he saw the man running across the highway, south of where it merges with Interstate 35. The driver tried to avoid the man by swerving but ended up hitting him, police said.
The officers performed CPR on the man until an EMS crew arrived. He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.No charges are expected to filed at this time.
