Man dies after jump from Interstate 8 bridge in East County [Breaking]
A man died after jumping from the Pine Valley Creek Bridge Tuesday evening in East County, the California Highway Patrol said.
Witnesses reported about 5:40 p.m. that a man parked his car on the right hand side of eastbound Interstate 8 at the midpoint of the bridge, said CHP Officer Danielle McComb. The man got out of the vehicle and had his legs over the side of the railing. He jumped from the 450-foot bridge a few minutes later, McComb said.Lanes on the eastbound side of the bridge were closed temporarily, McComb said.
