Sheriff’s deputies learned Christopher Sayers, 24, and his ex-girlfriend had a child custody exchange earlier Sunday. Sayers was later involved in an altercation with the woman’s current boyfriend, which ended in the deadly shooting, authorities said.
A man was fatally shot following an altercation with his girlfriends ex-boyfriend. LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio – An Elyria man died in a shooting that happened after a child custody exchange Sunday in LaGrange Township, according to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
A man called 911 to report that Sayers had been shot in the stomach. He also notified dispatch that he believed Sayers had died, the release says.
