A man has been sentenced to 43 years in prison for a multi-state crime spree that began with the kidnapping and sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip R. Sellinger announced. Luis Figueroa, 42, of Bronx, New York, was convicted of kidnapping, criminal sexual abuse, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and assaulting an employee of the United StatesThe violence occurred in Pennsylvania and New Jersey on June 6, 2014, before Figueroa was apprehended by police while attempting to enter New York on the George Washington Bridge.
