The name of the man killed, a 24-year-old Oakland resident, has not been released.
The shootings were reported after 3 a.m. in the area of 42nd Avenue and on-ramps to Interstate 880, an area known by sideshow enthusiasts as “The Pit,” a frequent gathering place for sideshow activity.
Police estimate hundreds of cars and spectators were at the site when the shooting began. It is not yet known what prompted the shooting but three men were wounded. One was taken by an ambulance to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, while the other two got their own transportation to the hospital and were in stable condition, police said.There have been numerous acts of violence at sideshows over the years, including homicides, robberies and shootings.
