A man was killed on Interstate 15 in Weber County on Friday when debris from a southbound vehicle went over the median and struck the windshield of his northbound car.

The accident occurred at about 3:10 p.m. Friday when the man was traveling northbound on I-15 near mile marker 339. Debris from another vehicle traveling southbound went over the median and through the windshield of the car traveling north and killed the driver, whose identity was not immediately available.
The debris that went through the car is believed to be a brake assembly, according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol. Officials don’t have a description of the vehicle the debris might have come from but urge anyone with information on the crash to call Weber County Dispatch’s nonemergency line at 395-8221.
