The driver of motorcycle died on Saturday after his bike struck an SUV on a South Jersey highway, Middle Township Police Capt. Tracey Super said Monday.
Police were called to Route 9 and Church Street in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township at 1:56 a.m., Super said. The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old man from North Cape May, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The passenger, a 23-year-old woman from North Cape May, is being treated for her injuries at Cape Regional Medical Center, authorities said.The occupants of the vehicle were uninjured, police said.
A section of Route 9 was shut down for four hours on Saturday morning as the crash scene was investigated.
