A man who went on a West Seattle crime spree in June 2022 was sentenced to about 60 years in prison on Friday.

Jaycee Thompson was charged with one count of first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree attempted robbery, four counts of first-degree attempted murder and five counts of first-degree kidnapping. Thompson, 44, was found guilty on Oct. 11, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors said the “multi-location violent crime spree” began around 11 p.m. on June 19 with an attempted robbery by Thompson, who pointed a “pistol-grip shotgun” at the victim, his friend, and struck him with it.
After the shooting, Thompson drove to a Delridge encampment where he “kidnapped an acquaintance at gunpoint,” according to prosecutors. “He marched that victim deeper into the encampment to his next victim’s shelter,” prosecutors said. “Once there, he murdered a man, shooting him as he sat on his bed.”After West Seattle man was fatally shot, the camp was torched and neighbors now want actionSeattle police arrested Thompson two days after the initial incident. He remained in custody on $5 million bail after pleading not guilty to all charges.
