INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD confirmed an officer-involved shooting that happened Thursday afternoon turned deadly., near 38th Street and College Avenue, around 2:30 p.m. May 2.
Once officers encountered the man, a witness told detectives the suspect pointed the firearm at police. Two officers fired at the man, striking him. No officers or other citizens were injured, according to IMPD. Police say they located a firearm at the scene, which was damaged in the incident.IMPD officers found this firearm at the scene of a shooting involving officers on Broadway Street, Thursday, May 2, 2024.
The shooting will be investigated by IMPD's Critical Incident Response Team, as well as a separate investigation by IMPD Internal Affairs.
