A person was shot Monday afternoon in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., police responded to multiple calls reporting sounds of gunfire in the 1300 block of East 28th Street in the city’s Highland Park neighborhood, a police spokesperson said.
When officers arrived, they learned a 21-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound had been found in the 2700 block of Vallecito Place. The victim managed to obtain transportation to a nearby hospital, and he was later listed in stable condition. No information about a possible motive, shooting suspects or associated vehicles was immediately released Monday night.
