Man shot while chasing robbers who took son's cellphone in El Cajon [Breaking]
A man was shot in El Cajon late Saturday while chasing a pair of robbers who snatched his son’s cellphone, police said.
The victim and his 15-year-old son were standing at a food truck on Jamacha Road near East Washington Avenue just before midnight when two men walked up. One of the men grabbed the cellphone from the teen’s hand, police Lt. Walt Miller said.One of the men turned, pulled a handgun from his waistband and shot the father once in the abdomen, Miller said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and was expected to survive. His son was not hurt, Miller said.
