Man struck, killed by car on I-8 in El Cajon is identified [Breaking]
A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car a week ago on Interstate 8 in El Cajon was a 48-year-old homeless man, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Reginald Burke was walking east on west Interstate 8, just east of Main Street, last Sunday around 8:20 p.m. when he walked into the path of the vehicle as the driver changed lanes, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol.The driver, in a Kia Cadenza, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said. Investigators did not believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
