Pennsylvania State Police say a man involved in an incident in Halifax Township, Dauphin County , was taken into custody.Troopers haven't identified the man — or what prompted police to initially search and contact him in the first place — but said he was taken to Dauphin County Prison.Charges are pending.The incident on Elmer Avenue on Thursday prompted a large police presence, but it's unclear what happened. Neighbors described a standoff situation.

Event shook up neighborhood'Well, it was kind of spooky,' Nancy Patrick said.Patrick's day typically starts with working on her computer and paying bills. But when she looked out the window of her Elmer Avenue home on Thursday morning, she just knew things would be different.'You see the police cars out there, and you see the guns out there, and I'm a nosy person,' she said.Patrick said she and her husband got a knock on the door from police.'They wanted us to vacate.
