UPDATE: A man was found dead in a wooded area after shooting his neighbor and then firing gunshots at Round Rock police, according to officials. The shelter-in-place order has been lifted.
The incident began around 12:30 p.m. Saturday after police received a call from a man who said he had been shot multiple times by a neighbor of his, according toAround 12:38 p.m., officers received another report of a man wearing a black trench coat, carrying an AR-style file on Old Settlers Blvd.
An armored vehicle arrived and the armed man began firing again. Police returned fire once more, though Chief Banks said it was unknown if the man was struck. No officers were injured during the shootout, though one officer did suffer a medical situation and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The officer is in stable condition.
