Mariah Carey would like to clear the 'Quismois' air.
On Dec. 7, the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer appeared on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” to promote her new special, “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas To All.”Still, when Colbert addressed her as the"Queen of Christmas," the vocalist paused his questioning to straighten out a few things regarding the nickname.
“Really? I’m gonna do that?” she quipped. “They can look up every interview I’ve ever done, and not to get super religious, but I was like, ‘I think, like, if anybody would be the ‘Queen of Christmas,’ that would bemade headlines after the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board chose to deny her exclusive legal rights
In response to her application, singers Elizabeth Chan and Darlene Love challenged Carey’s attempt to trademark the title.
