.MariahCarey has moved to the performing rights organization ASCAP
“ASCAP’s dedication to songwriters and our craft is one of the many reasons I was drawn to this community,” said Carey in a statement released Wednesday . “I am so excited to be a part of ASCAP and look forward to our partnership.”
Carey joins ASCAP from SESAC, the performing rights organization she signed with in 2014. Over the course of her career, she has racked up a total of 19 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, more than any other solo artist, and won five Grammys. A co-writer on the large majority of her hits, she will befor the first time in December, 25 years after its original release.in a statement. “She is a prolific songwriter, producer and performer who always gives her fans more music to love.
