Illinois Marine killed in Boston; bouncer charged with murder

A bouncer has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a Marine from Illinois who served in the war on terror and was celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Boston over the weekend.

Alvaro Larrama, a 39-year-old East Boston father of four, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Martinez. His arraignment in Boston Municipal Court Monday was held just hours after he turned himself in to police. Larrama went inside the bar after the stabbing, washing his hands and turning his shirt inside out, the prosecutor said. The bouncer then left the pub through the back door.
