Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) continued the prevailing theme of calling for the United States to stop providing aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia on Sunday in remarks at the Turning Point Action conference.
Calling the conflict"a proxy war with Russia," Greene told attendees that she isn't done fighting to prevent the National Defense Authorization Act's support and weapons for Ukraine. Last week, her amendment to nix $300 million in funding Ukraine failed 89-341 in the House of Representatives, with 130 Republicans joining Democrats in rebuking the measure.
"This is where I get to go and say, 'Fund our military and make it the strongest military in the world so that we can have peace.' And this is the place that I get to go and say, 'No more war in Ukraine, Lindsey Graham,'" she added. According to Greene, support for Ukraine's defense against Russia is due to the Washington, D.C., establishment's"sick addiction."CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER
Greene's sentiment echoed those of Reps. Anna Paulina Luna and Matt Gaetz , and Tucker Carlson in their remarks on Saturday. Former President Donald Trump claimed on the conference's first day that he would have the war settled in 24 hours if elected president, as he says no other 2024 candidate can prevent World War III.
