Mark Zuckerberg competed in his first jujitsu tournament Saturday in Woodside, walking away with gold and silver medals for the local Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu team, with which he trains. He shared news of the win with his 11.3 million Instagram followers, posting“Yesterday getting to see @zuck compete was pretty epic,”the professional fighter Khai Wu, one of Zuckerberg’s coaches, in an Instagram post. “No match was easy and everything was earned.
The Meta CEO wore shorts gifted by mixed martial arts champion Alex Volkanovski, who joined a flood of celebrity congratulations in the comments of the Instagram post. Zuckerberg replied to many of his supporters in the comments, including a hands-raised emoji to the fighter Gabriel Marangoni, who had written, “Honored to ref your matches. Warrior.”
