£700,000 is on show during its auction in Edinburgh on October 3, 2018. - The whisky, which was in a vat for 60 years from 1926 then bottled, fetched £700,000 plus a £148,000 sales premium to make it the most expensive whisky for £848,000. The first and most evident lot to show the slow of the rare whisky market is the famed Macallan 1926 bottling designed by Italian artist Valerio Adami.estimated this bottle would sell for over £1.5 million pounds.
