Marlon Wayans has heard your calls for WhiteChicks 2, but you may not like his response. '‘F—k yourself, you do White Chicks 2! I’m doing Black man movies.’'
Despite plenty of teases of it being made, Marlon Wayans has a hilarious and profane response to fans demanding White Chicks 2 be made. The original comedy centered on Kevin and Marcus Anthony Copeland II, two FBI agents who are tasked with chauffeuring two socialite women at a fashion event amidst a string of high-profile kidnappings.
Marlon and Shawn Wayans, who also wrote the film, led the cast of White Chicks as Marcus and Kevin alongside Jaime King, Busy Philipps, Jennifer Carpenter, Terry Crews, Jessica Cauffiel, John Heard, Frankie Faison, Lochlyn Munro and Rochelle Aytes. Helmed by Keenan Ivory Wayans, the film hit theaters in 2004 to largely negative reviews from critics but proved to be a box office hit, grossing over $113 million against its $37 million budget.
"Makeup movies, until they learn how to digitally do it, special effects wise [no thanks]. That’s a lot of work. Everybody’s like, ‘Do White Chicks 2,’ I’m like, ‘F—k yourself, you do White Chicks 2! I’m doing Black man movies.’" Given the first film has enjoyed a cult reception in the years since its release, talks of a White Chicks 2 have circulated for well over a decade, beginning as early as 2009, though the first attempt was quietly canceled by Sony shortly thereafter. Marlon Wayans himself has gone back and forth on his interest in developing the sequel, having confirmed the possibility of a sequel in 2014.
Though Wayans did express last year that the sequel is"necessary" for Hollywood, his newest comments regarding White Chicks 2 seemingly indicates he may have moved on from the idea entirely. Given it has been two years since the talks of a deal being discussed for it, it seems possible that the various failed attempts to bring the sequel to life have left him frustrated and paired with the extensive makeup process have killed his interest.
