Mississippi’s senior Senator Roger Wicker recently said on the Paul Gallo radio show, “The irony is that the Supreme Court is at the very time hearing cases about this sort of affirmative racial discrimination while adding someone who is the beneficiary of this sort of quota,” and has received national criticism for it.
Vowing to choose from a particular pool of qualified candidates is nothing new for presidential candidates. Both President Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump pledged to nominate women to the Supreme Court.
