Twin fans underneath allow 4,400 pounds of downforce from a standstill. Paired with an e-motor's instant torque, the Spéirling gets from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than 1.5 seconds.
The resulting Spéirling single-seater comes with the tagline"Smaller, faster, further." It employs a 60-kWto power two electric motors on the rear axle producing well more than the 800 horsepower of last year's car. Coming in at under 2,200 pounds, McMurtry says the power-to-weight ratio is 1,000 ponies per ton. The secret sauce to make the most of all that, however, are the twin fans underneath.
By combining 4,400 pounds of downforce from a standstill and pairing that with an e-motor's instant torque, the Spéirling gets from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than 1.5 seconds., slithering just as much as cornering as car and driver acclimated to the tight, curvy circuit.
