Watkins, Deer Park open bi-district series with 4-2 victory

Terrific nights at the plate by Bader Abuelouf, Dillon Mancha and Dillon Lester, Deer Park’s two, three and four-hole hitters, went 6-for-11 on the night, including back-to-back-to-back singles in the third and back-to-back triples in the fifth. “First round of the playoffs, first time experiencing this kind of atmosphere, so I just felt the energy was up and that definitely impacted how I pitched,” said Watkins, who forced Kingwood to go 2-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
