She's back and she's still got rainbow color.
sprinted into our hearts last summer, we've kept one eye on the soccer star's evolving hair color. She's gone dark brown, platinum blonde, and, most memorably,. Now, thanks to a New Year's refresh from stylist Riawna Capri, she's mixed up her beloved hue with shades of electric blue.
The new look incorporates even more shades of purple painted through the hair. The most noticeable change is the new blue section, which consists of a few vivid streaks up top. It looks exactly like the hair-color version of — and I say this with absolute love and sincerity — a"I did full-on highlights and then added a deeper purple root with lavender tips with a streak of a light electric blue," Capri says in a statement.
On Friday night, Rapinoe and the rest of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team will face Mexico in a qualifying game for the 2020 Olympics. According to Capri, Rapinoe purposefully chose a new shade before she heads out to the field. She "likes to switch up her color before exciting events and the Olympic qualifier [against] Mexico is the perfect time to do it," Capri explains.
