Rochester, N.Y. — Judge Meredith Vacca , a native of Rochester, received a nomination to serve as a federal judge in the Western District of New York.
"If confirmed, Judge Vacca – a proud Korean-American – would make history as the first Asian-American and the first woman of color ever to serve as a judge in the Western District of New York," said . I want to thank Senator Schumer for the very kind introduction, and his confidence in me to fill this vacancy in the Western District of New York. I want to thank my colleagues back at home at the hall of justice. I am honored to work amongst such thoughtful and dedicated judges. I also want to thank all of the court staff that work tirelessly every day to help make our court better and serve others.
