A Frasier Middle School student was cut with a pocketknife by one of their classmates, according to police and school officials.
An incident between two middle school students in Mesquite left one injured and another in police custody, according to police and school officials.
The incident occurred around noon Monday at Frasier Middle School when one student “produced a small pocketknife” during an argument and “the victim received two small cuts,” according to Mesquite police. Police said a school nurse told the victim’s parent that one of the cuts may need a stitch and they took the child the hospital.Further details on the arguments or what charges the suspect is facing were not immediately available.
Mesquite ISD confirmed the incident occurred but declined to provide any further information, citing student privacy restrictions. “There was an isolated incident between two students that led to an injury and an arrest,” a statement from Mesquite ISD said. The district does not comment on police matters but, according to the statement, but such infractions are handled through Code of Conduct.
