"Social media is fueling a national youth mental health crisis. Children, and in particular young girls, are struggling with record levels of depression and anxiety," James said in the video. "Harmful features designed to ensure children spend more time on their platforms, compare themselves to their peers, and receive constant notifications, making them lose sleep and struggle to pay attention in school.
