Michigan GOP lawmakers urge DeSantis to run for president: report

"I was looking at what the potential candidacies were for president and Republicans are going to have a lot of really good options coming up this cycle and I wanted to make sure to encourage that DeSantis was going to be one of them," Posthumus told Fox News on Wednesday. Posthumus argued that"this wasn’t about President Trump at all…We need a Republican running for president that can serve eight years and in my view we also need somebody from the next generation. And in my view, DeSantis is the guy that can lead the next generation."
