A teacher in Michigan has been placed on leave after giving an assignment that her school said contained a 'disturbing racial offense.' It reportedly included a photo of Barack Obama alongside several animals, including monkeys, and asked the students to identify the primates.
The teacher was employed by The Roeper School’s campus in Birmingham, Michigan, and the school reportedly said the assignment was given to students on May 11. The assignment reportedly showed photos of several animals, including monkeys, and Obama, and read “Which of the following are primates?” According to reports, around 30 students received the worksheet.
