A U.S.-Canadian dual citizen was among those killed in Gaza, World Central Kitchen said. The Israel Defense Forces said it would conduct a “thorough review.”
U.S., British and Australian officials called for Israel to investigate a strike in Gaza that killed aid workers employed by World Central Kitchen, the food charity founded by celebrity chef José Andrés that was jointly responsible for the first ship bringing aid to Gaza since the war began.
“The sort of values that are shown by someone going into a very dangerous place in order to assist mankind — their fellow humans, people who she didn’t know, that she just wanted to help out through this charity — it says everything about the character of this young woman,” he said. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Tuesday that London was urgently working to verify reports that British nationals were killed in the attack.
