Outfielder Adam Engel struck out three times and went 0-for-4 in his fourth rehab game with Triple-A El Paso and left-hander Jay Groome allowed six runs in aEngel is rehabbing a hamstring strain suffered late in camp. He is 3-for-13 with two doubles, four walks, seven strikeouts and two stolen bases.
Groome struck out four, walked five and gave up eight hits, including two home runs, in 4 2/3 innings.Right-hander Drew Carlton allowed a run in 1 1/3 innings and right-handers Michel Báez and Domingo Tapia both turned in a scoreless frame. Second baseman Tim Lopes hit his third homer and shortstop Matthew Batten and catcher Pedro Severino both had two hits.
