Reiss Knehr struck out a season-high eight batters over six strong innings, leading Triple-A El Paso to aKnehr allowed his only run on a homer as he scattered three hits and three walks in his first quality start of the season.
The 25-year-old right-hander has allowed three runs in 11 innings this month after posting a 7.91 ERA over 19 1/3 innings in April. For the season, Knehr has struck out 29 batters against 17 walks over 30 1/3 innings. He has allowed seven homers. Right-hander Yusmeiro Petit struck out a batter and allowed a walk and a hit in the eighth inning in his second appearance with the Chihuahuas.Designated hitter Aderlin Rodriguez doubled in two runs and first baseman Taylor Kohlwey went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a walk and two runs scored.
