Padres pitching prospect Robby Snelling strikes out nine over six shutout innings in fourth start with high Single-A Fort Wayne
The 19-year-old left-hander tied a career high with nine strikeouts over six shutout innings, leading the TinCaps to aSnelling scattered four weeks without walking a batter in lowering his ERA to 2.89 through his first four starts in the Midwest League.
In that time, Snelling — the 39overall pick last year — has struck out 22 against six walks while holding hitters to a .243 average over 18 2/3 innings.All told, Snelling, who began his career this spring at low Single-A Lake Elsinore, is 7-2 with a 1.92 ERA, 81 strikeouts and a 1.07 WHIP over 70 1/3 innings.
