On Tuesday, the Mobile City Council will consider an agreement to provide $10 million to the University of South Alabama for construction of a new medical school facility.
Project maps show the current layout of buildings where the University of South Alabama's new medical school will rise and how the area will look after the project , University Boulevard is at right.The Mobile City Council could approve an agreement today that would provide the University of South Alabama’s Whiddon College of Medicine with $10 million over the next ten years for its new medical school facility.
The agreement, proposed by Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson’s office, would have the city giving the university $1 million a year for the next ten years, ending in 2033. The
