A mother who removed her 12-year-old daughter's facial hair in a TikTok video says it's a small sacrifice to support body autonomy. 'To moms: if your teen/tween asks to remove facial hair ... please do it!' Vidya Gopalan of North Carolina wrote on her video with more than 20 million views. 'I tried doing this myself secretly at her age since I wasn’t allowed to do this until and it didn't end well,' she wrote.
'It's really important to listen to your kids.' Gopalan says while her daughter has never been teased for body hair, shaving is a precautionary measure. 'If hair removal makes her feel better, it's a small thing to do,' she says. 'Middle school is hard as is.' Gopalan posted the TikTok video to normalize hair removal.
