Nissan is recalling more than 200,000 new-model Frontier and Titan pickup trucks because the transmission parking pawl, which prevents vehicles from moving, may not engage when the vehicle is shifted into park.

Affected models and years are Nissan Frontiers and Titans from 2020 through 2023,The transmission parking pawl, which prevents vehicles from moving, may not engage when the vehicle is shifted into park, which can result in a vehicle rollaway, the traffic safety administration reported.

Of the 203,223 vehicles potentially involved in the recall, the agency estimates just 1% could have the defect.Notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 1, the agency reported.Ford fire risk recall:
