Amy Watts' daughter Kyli had been living in LA for just two weeks when she was stabbed in the back of the head by a homeless man. Watts called the attack an example of how the system has failed the homeless and the mentally ill.
"I gave my typical ‘Hey, what’s up, baby girl?’ and the first words out of her mouth were ‘Mom, this is serious, I’ve been stabbed,’" Amy Watts said. At the time, Kyli Watts didn’t realize that the shears were still lodged in her skull.
Authorities said that Kyli Watts’ alleged attacker, Jonathan Cole, targeted her for no apparent reason. But the Watts don’t feel anger toward the homeless 30-year-old.Homeless man accused of stabbing woman in head with scissors in unprovoked attack arrested: LAPD
