Motorcyclist crashes, dies on U.S 281 north of downtown
J.J. TrevinoOfficers were dispatched to U.S. 281 near Hildebrand Avenue at 1:41 a.m. after a body was reported lying on the side of the highway.
Police said the driver of a red 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on 281 and failed to “properly negotiate a curve.” In the stretch between Trinity University and University of the Incarnate Word, the highway veers to the east, then back to the west, before resuming its northbound path.
The motorcyclist struck the edge of the Hildebrand Avenue overpass retaining wall on the east side of the northbound lanes, police said.claire.bryan@express-news.net
