Breaking overnight: A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with an SUV on the Southwest Freeway near downtown early Friday, according to the Houston Police Department.
The crash happened at 1:40 a.m. near the Montrose Boulevard bridge on the northbound lanes.
Details of what led to the crash are unknown at this time. Police said both the SUV and the motorcycle caught fire at the time of the crash.The SUV had three occupants in the vehicle, and police said all three appeared to be OK. “So, the freeway is going to be shut down for several hours till they finish that,” said Willkens. “And it’s of course, there’s not a lot of exits there.
