Mulan is the live-action rendition of the beloved 1998 Disney animated classic of the same name. It is loosely based on the Chinese folklore Ballad of Mulan. It tells the story of Mulan, a young woman who dresses up as a man and fights for her country, in hopes of bringing honor to her family.
Mulan is directed by Niki Caro and flaunts a phenomenal cast that consists of Yifei Liu as the titular protagonist. It also stars Donnie Yen, Gong Li, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Jet Li, Tzi Ma, Rosalind Chao, Xana Tang, Ron Yuan, Jun Yu, Jimmy Wong, Chen Tang, Doua Moua, Nelson Lee, Cheng Pei-pei, and Arka Das. The movie also features a cameo from Ming-Na Wen, who had voiced Mulan in the original animated movie.
