But the dispute is taking off in New Hampshire, where Bryant “Corky” Messner, an attorney who ran on Trump’s endorsement as Republicans’ 2020 U.S. Senate nominee, is questioning Trump’s eligibility for the ballot — and wants to see the courts address it. Yet any effort to keep Trump off the ballot will face a steep climb, including in New Hampshire, the first-in-the-nation primary state. Chris Ager, chair of the state Republican Party, said in an interview that “I don’t think the effort to limit the options for our primary voters has any legs whatsoever.”
