The city will also establish the Plainfield Fire Disaster Recovery Fund, which will collect donations from residents and businesses.

“Plainfield is not a community that overlooks its neighbors in their time of need,” the mayor said. “Opening a small business is a large feat. It can take years of savings, labor, sweat, and tears. We are devastated for these owners facing the daunting task of rebuilding.

Although we cannot replace what was lost, we hope this grant and the Plainfield Fire Disaster Recovery Fund can help alleviate some of the economic stress they are under.”or 908-753-342. The mayor’s office is asking anyone interested in donating to the recovery fund to make checks payable to the Mayor and Business Administrators’ Office.
