A 71-year-old New Jersey man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on a highway in upstate New York, officials said.
The crash took place at about 1:10 p.m. Thursday when the driver of an SUV swerved to avoid traffic stopped due to construction on Interstate 81 North and rear-ended a vehicle in the left lane, New York State Police said. The vehicle struck from behind landed on its side after being pushed off the highway. The driver of that vehicle — Timothy B. Willson, of Collingswood in Camden County — died of his injuries, police said.
